Sam's First Bike Ride

Sam got to go on his first bike ride yesterday in his new buggers, thanks to the amazing shipping of FedEx. On Friday, Kate emailed me at work to say that she had found a great deal on a bugger from Nashbar (we had been in the market for one since the old one from Mom and Dad had proven to be too worn out), we decided to get it. Kate ordered it on Friday around noon, and then yesterday morning after she had left for work (Sam and I were still asleep), I hear this banging on our front door and see a FedEx truck out front, and low and behold it was the bugger. The thing had shipped in less than 24 hours, we have no idea how it came so fast, especially since it was an oversized package. But anyway, enough about that, even if it remains a mystery about how it got here so fast.

So to the actually important thing, Sam's first bike ride. Even though Sam was really excited to go for a ride ;), we waited till Kate got home to go. As you can see, his car seat fits nicely inside the bugger, and he gets to sit facing forward instead of backwards like in a car.

Our actual ride was pretty short, we just wanted to test it out. We just did about a mile and half loop here in town, and Sam was pretty much totally unimpressed the whole time, though he did not scream like his Aunt Britta used to when she was in the bugger. We can't wait to try it on a longer ride, but just have to find some places that are safe to ride with a baby bugger around here.
